Q: What is the biggest corporate order you’ve ever had?

Tshepang: Within my first three months at NetFlorist I received a big order for customised Women’s Day hampers. The hamper included an umbrella, a mug, and a coffee sachet.

Q: What are three things you wish companies knew?

Tshepang: I wish companies knew that corporate gifts play a very important role if you want to retain your employees. From celebrating special occasions like employee birthdays to sending sympathy gifts. These tokens of appreciation let your employees know that you are there for them in both the good and bad times.

Q: What are our most popular corporate gifts?

Guillaume: It’s difficult to pinpoint because different customers want different gifts. Alcohol is always very popular, especially for corporate year-end gifts. However, bath and body products, like Charlotte Rhys, are also popular for ladies. We find that most of our corporate orders are personalised. The added personal touch is everything as the message is often more important than the product itself.

That said, we also try to keep an eye on what’s trending. This allows us to change our corporate business model as need be so that we can give our clients exactly what they want.

Q: What misconceptions do people have about corporate gifting?

Guillaume: This is not necessarily a misconception, but rather not knowing the reason why you should give corporate gifts. When I started working here, Ryan said two valuable things to me. And that was that retention and acquisition are so important, both for your customers and staff. Corporate clients typically experience this once they send someone a gift and receive heartfelt thank yous. It opens their eyes to the sincere emotions involved in gifting.

Q: Why are corporate gifts so important?

Leilani: Corporate gifts represent a company’s brand and are crucial for brand recognition. But, in times when business is tough, a gift is also essential for client retention. A lot of our corporate orders are personalised with a brand’s logo. This is a great way for brands to remain top of mind with their clients.

Q: How do you go about recommending a corporate gift to a new customer?

Leilani: We prepare a presentation to inform and entice our customers. It is also important to ask the right questions so that we know exactly what the customer wants and what their price range is. That said, the NetFlorist brand’s creativity speaks for itself and customers are very drawn to that.

Q: What is the quirkiest corporate order you’ve ever received?

Leilani: During Covid-19’s lockdown restrictions we could only sell essential products like fruit, veggies, and biltong. One company ordered a ton of veggies for their clients! It was incredible to see how companies went the extra mile to stay in contact with their clients and employees through gifting. We also had quite a few orders from companies that hosted virtual get-togethers or celebrations. One order consisted of mugs that read ‘You’re on mute’, which made virtual teams’ meetings more interactive and fun.

How To Place A Corporate Order

Our ordering process cannot be easier! Simply email our corporate team at corporate@netflorist.co.za. Once you have chosen the perfect corporate gift, they will give you the option to open a 30-day account. This allows you to order on a secure profile, using a PO number for records. Alternatively, our corporate department also offers an ordering option for cash clients. With this option, you can request a quote for your order. After you have approved the quote, you can pay via EFT and send our team proof of payment. Or you can choose to fill in the credit card authorisation form.
